Thesis
Eastcastle’s thesis set out the principles that guide our investment and development strategy. Each thesis reflects a long‑term view of how people want to live, work, and build community — and where the most resilient opportunities lie.

We strongly believe the next generation of rental neighbourhoods will be defined by gentle density, human‑scale design, and a stronger connection to place. Our focus is on creating 2–6 storey neighbourhoods in commuter towns, places that offer the space, greenery, and walkable neighbourhoods, without sacrificing connectivity.
These communities are designed exclusively for long‑term renters, offering stability, quality, and a sense of belonging. Each home will have access to shared gardens, and communal spaces to foster natural interaction and neighbourliness.
By combining thoughtful design, sustainable construction, and long‑term stewardship, we aim to create rental neighbourhoods that feel grounded, welcoming, and built to last.

We regenerate under‑utilised urban areas into walkable, mixed‑use neighbourhoods where homes, workspaces, and public realm come together. Human‑scale streets, active ground floors, and local heros create places that feel vibrant, safe, and rooted in their local identity.
We stitch new neighbourhoods in to the existing urban fabric by designing contextual architecture, celebrating local history, public art and people.
The periods in which we’ve seen the most housing built in the UK were the Victorian era and the post war boom. Both of these eras’ architecture is characterised by uniform, repeatable house types.
